Old thing is something. Do you agree? Well, I must say that old death metal is really really something. Remember with dum tak dum tak dum tak that I talked about on my last post? Yes, mate! It's something for me. In this Macabre Eternal also has that dum tak dum tak dum tak style. You know that right haha. This legendary death metal really has their own unique style. Really, mate... Even its released on 2011, it still like an 80'-90' album. So classy....
Well, the first song Hand of Darkness will suprise you. It's really burn your spirit into ashes. Really really makes my day. Dirty Whore Gore gives us a little different aura. Steel Dhurm on angrymetalguy.com also said similar opinion that opener “Hand of Darkness” explodes with that classic primitive, grinding death metal racket and packs a myriad of crude, ugly riffs and Reifert’s one-of-a-kind, deranged and unbalanced vocals. It’s as if this is the follow up to 91’s Mental Funeral and they sound just as angry, dangerous and hungry. Listen to the brilliantly frantic lead riff from “Dirty Gore Whore” and the way the song changes into a slow, grinding juggernaut, slithering along ominously.
Always About to Die and Macabre Eternal really classic. It's really showed us the aura of old school death metal. Deliver Me from Sanity and Seeds of Doomed really great things. It's really great, i must say. Especially Seeds of the Doomed, it's really great song. It will burn your spirit into ashes... So full of passion and spirit. I assure, it will be one of your fav song on this album. Really old school death metal. Next with Bridge of Bones will give us nice environment. So emotional... Born Undead really burns all of my spirit. Really, mate. When you heard this, automatically activates auto-headbanging mode. It's also one of my fav song on this album. It has nice dynamic. Firstly it fast, then slow, fast, slow, fast, slow, and so on. Also don't forget with those dum tak dum tak dum tak style. Really enjoyed it. Sewn into One and Bludgeoned and Brained also give us great atmosphere here. I must say, there's nothing bad song on this album. Last but not very last, Sadistic Gratification will give us different atmosphere. There are so much emotions here. Like sadnes, sorrow, and anything else. Beside, it has really long duration. It's 11 minutes. In the early and the end of song you'll feel the atmosphere that I talked about. Very last, Spill My Blood really give us a nice shot for a last song. It's really nice and fast. Yeah mate and again, it has those dum tak dum tak dum tak style. Really badass album.
Eric Reifert previously said about Macabre Eternal: "We've brewed up the sickest and heaviest material that our rotten souls could possibly spew forth, and we are confident that it's our best stuff yet." I think that although there are some downsides to this album, Autopsy has definitely lived up to this expectation. It's overall a very solid album and a must-have for any Autopsy or death metal fan!
